Last, Very Last, Last Last Meeting


We had stated in an earlier blog that it was our last meeting--it should have read student meeting. In truth, this will be our last time to get together before the trip. It will be at 5:30 pm, on Tuesday, July 1st. We will hold it in room 135 (Mr. Hurst's Room), and we need everyone to send a parent or legal guardian to the meeting. Participants are also encouraged to come. Items to be discussed are the itinerary, the rooming lists, a copy of the phone tree and its use, money, tips, security, discipline, etc.

It is important that we are all on the same page before we depart, so please make this a priority.

If you cannot attend, please call 675-0025 to report your conflict. Thanks.

Spanish Club Scholarship

Congratulations to Christopher Wells who is this years recipient of the Spanish Club-Spanish Scholar Award.  This award was created to assist students who are planning on pursuing a career in Spanish or Spanish Education.  Mr. Wells will receive his check later this summer, and we wish him all the best in his studies.

Last Meeting--May 7








This is our last student meeting before the trip. We will go over several details as well as revise rooming assignments and phone trees. We will also cover the prices for the optional excursions and the trip layout. We need to discuss the last fundraiser, and how to get money from the chocolate bar sales.

We are almost there!!! I am so excited for you all to see these wonderful sights. Please plan to be at this last meeting on Wednesday, May 7th during resource.

There will be one final parent/traveler meeting after the school year (in June or July, depending when the last of the information arrives). Please be sure to check this site as it will be harder to communicate once the school year is over.

Trip Money Due


Trip money is due April 4th. Students should pay money directly to EF Tours. Any fundraising money you have earned will be issued to you in a check at the end of fundraising (around May 1st).

On that note, please stop in and pick up more chocolate boxes to sell. We have around 80 boxes left--thats $1,920 towards your trip if you come and claim the right to sell them. Each box gets you $24. I have personally sold a total of 22 boxes, and plan to sell 4 more, so it can be done if you put your mind to it.

We will have a meeting after spring break and then one final meeting in June.

January Fundraiser set to start


We received several boxes with cases of candy bars yesterday and are in the process of getting everything organized. Starting Thursday, January 24, please stop by and pick up a box of candy bars. Each box has 48 bars to be sold at $1. We are making 50% on each box sold, so if you sell 4 boxes, that's nearly $100. Once this fundraiser is finished we will cut a check to EF Tours for whatever funds you raised selling the candy bars. Good luck!

Meeting Postponed 2 weeks

I am sorry, but we need to postpone the parent/traveler meeting until December 20th. It will still be 6:30 pm in room 135. I have some responsabilities this Thursday that I cannot get out of, so we will have to move the date forward.

There will be a flyer sent out this Friday detailing information on the Rummage Sale. The rest of the items will be discussed in the meeting on the 20th. Thanks you for your patience.

Rummage Sale/Holiday Bazaar




Hopefully you have been collecting "Nick-knacks and bricker-bracks" to sell at your booth in our Rummage Sale/Holiday Bazaar which will take place on DECEMBER 15 in the Community Lecture Room from 9-12 in the morning. You can create a craft or gather garage sale items from around the home (or from neighbors who wish to contribute) and price them for sale. Each item you sell will go directly towards your trip, so plan on using this day to get rid of unwanted clutter and in the process turn it into cash! More details in the Parent Meeting this Thursday.
